PRO: Indulging in the beauty of Nature
An outdoor event allows your guests to enjoy nature in an atmosphere of relaxation and serenity. There’s something about being outside that stimulates the senses . The breeze kissing your skin, the sunset, the dark silhouettes of the tree branches dancing against the blue skies... there is something absolutely alluring and magical about outdoor events. These events tend to be very memorable, and persons love taking photos against the backdrop of lovely décor and nature's beauty.
CON: Unpredictability.... Anything can happen!
You can’t control the weather…isn't that unfortunate! And we all know weather predictions are not 100% reliable. When it comes to hosting an event outdoors, you run the risk of bad weather, which means that having a back-up plan is important. We all know that sometimes, the weather just does what it wants and there’s not too much that we can do about it. It’s also hard to control other elements, like extreme heat or humidity. This is why having a plan in place will be key to hosting a successful outdoor event.
PRO: Versatility
You can host virtually any type of event outdoors including:
Corporate events
Social galas
Wedding receptions
Birthday parties
Bridal/baby showers
Also, as opposed to having to stick to a certain floorplan, which limits your seating and décor options, when you choose to have it outside you gain more freedom to design the look and feel of your event.
Planning the Perfect Outdoor Event
The best thing about outdoor events, aside from how scenic and enjoyable they are is the amount of options you have when planning one. In the early planning stages of your event, you can utilize tools such as conducting a SWOT Analysis to gain insight into what weaknesses or threats can possibly have an adverse effect on your event.
Ensure that you rent tents , so that if it rains, you won’t have to worry.
